Softball Recap: Purvis' Win on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Nine

Purvis had already won eight in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.9 runs) and they went ahead and made it nine on Thursday. They blew past the Forrest County Agricultural Aggies 11-1. 11 seems to be a good number for the Tornadoes as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Purvis got a big performance out of Allee Williamson - 2025, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI and two doubles. That's the most RBI Williamson - 2025 has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was Brooxie Shepherd - 2026, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Purvis always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .562. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Forrest County Agricultural only posted an OBP of .211.

Purvis pushed their record up to 16-5 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for Forrest County Agricultural, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 16 of their last 17 matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-24 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Purvis will venture away from home to take on West Marion at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Forrest County Agricultural, they will head out to square off against Pearl River Central at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
