Basketball Recap: Cristo Rey San Jose Jesuit Takes a Loss

Cristo Rey San Jose Jesuit was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They lost 73-50 to the More Knights. The Lions lost against the Knights in their previous head to head back in February of 2023, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 75-29 score last time.

Despite the loss, Cristo Rey San Jose Jesuit still got an impressive performance from Alberto Mora, who posted 16 points. That's the most points Mora has posted since back in January of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Fernando Perez, who had nine points.

It was another big night for Anthony Selway, who went 7 of 17 en route to 21 points and three steals for More. Selway has been hot, having posted three or more steals the last five times he's played. Timothy Bumb was another key player, going 6 for 7 on his way to 14 points.

Cristo Rey San Jose Jesuit's defeat dropped their record down to 1-8. As for More, the win was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-5.

Cristo Rey San Jose Jesuit will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Summit Shasta at 7:00 p.m. As for More, they are taking a road trip to square off against University Prep Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in More's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last six contests.
