            Baseball Recap: Conwell-Egan Catholic Eagles vs. Roman Catholic Cahillite        
        
		
        
        
            Conwell-Egan Catholic hadn't done well against Roman Catholic recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way  on Wednesday. The Eagles never let the Cahillite get on the board and left with  a   3-0  victory. The Eagles have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Cahillite, too.

 Brady Guzzie made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound,   not allowing a single  earned run and  allowing only  one  hit while striking out 16 over seven innings pitched. Those  16  strikeouts gave  him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box,  scoring a  run and  stealing a base while  getting on base  in three of his four plate appearances.
 Guzzie wasn't  the only one making solid contact as  three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was  Keegan Johnson, who  went 2-for-4 with one  double and one  RBI. That's the most  hits  Johnson has posted since back in June of 2024.
Conwell-Egan Catholic now  has a winning record of 5-4. As for Roman Catholic, they dropped their record down to 1-8 with the  defeat, which was their fifth straight  at home.
 We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Conwell-Egan Catholic will  take on  rival Archbishop Carroll  at 4:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Roman Catholic is set to  square off against  their familiar foe St. Joseph's Prep  at 4:00  p.m.  on Tuesday.
