Peninsula has gone 7-0 against Torrance recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Peninsula Panthers will take on the Torrance Tartars at 5:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Peninsula is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Corona just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Monday. They took a 49-39 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Panthers. While losing is never fun, Peninsula can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 385th, while Corona is ranked 187th).

Meanwhile, Torrance lost to Santa Margarita on the road by a 54-38 margin last Saturday. The Tartars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Torrance's loss dropped their record down to 10-9. As for Peninsula, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-7.

Peninsula was able to grind out a solid victory over Torrance when the teams last played back in December of 2023, winning 49-38. The rematch might be a little tougher for Peninsula since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
