Baseball Game Preview: Roaring Fork Rams vs. Rifle Bears

Roaring Fork hasn't had much luck against Rifle recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Rams will look to defend their home field against the Bears at 3:00 p.m. Roaring Fork has given up an average of 8.2 runs per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

On Tuesday, Roaring Fork came up short against Coal Ridge and fell 14-9.

Meanwhile, Rifle came tearing into Monday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They blew past the Sailors 12-6.

The team relied heavily on Baden Phillips, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one triple. He has become a key player for Rifle: the team is 4-2 when he posts at least two runs, but 2-9 otherwise. Kale Potter was another key player, going 2-for-5 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base.

Rifle's win bumped their record up to 6-11. As for Roaring Fork, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 6-11.
