Basketball Recap: Anniston's Undefeated Season over After Three Games

If Anniston was riding high fresh off their 49-19 takedown of Central of Clay County on Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The contest between the Bulldogs and the Midfield Patriots didn't end well, with the Bulldogs falling 44-27. The Bulldogs were not able to make up for their defeat to the Patriots from their previous meeting back in January of 2022.

Midfield was led to victory by Kamiya Webb and Lauren Stokes. Webb dropped a double-double with 14 points and 14 rebounds, while Stokes shot 42% from the field to rack up 14 points and six boards. Webb has been hot for a while, having posted eight or more rebounds the last 36 times she's played. Navada Bush was another key player, putting up four points and three steals.

Having lost for the first time this season, Anniston fell to 2-1. As for Midfield, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.

Anniston has already played their next game, a 61-5 win against Leeds on the 24th. As for Midfield, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 45-44 loss against Shades Valley on the 24th.
