Softball Recap: Firebaugh Find Success

Firebaugh's game last Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They walked away with a 17-14 victory over the Madera South Stallions. This was a revenge game for the Eagles: when they faced off against the Stallions two weeks ago, they had to take a 9-4 defeat.

Ana'Bella Tovar was a standout: she went a perfect 4-for-4 with four stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. Tovar is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least one every time she's taken the field this season. Serenity Martinez was another key player, going 3-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple.

Tovar wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Firebaugh kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in April of 2024.

Firebaugh's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-7. As for Madera South, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-7.

Firebaugh didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 13-3 loss against Immanuel on the 24th. As for Madera South, they will take on Kerman at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Kerman will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Madera South surely won't give up without a fight.
