Basketball Recap: R-S Central Takes a Loss

R-S Central was the 37-31 winner over Brevard when they last played one another on January 3rd, but their luck changed this time around. The R-S Central Hilltoppers fell to the Brevard Blue Devils 41-36. The Hilltoppers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, R-S Central still got an impressive performance from Lai Flack, who posted 16 points. That was a full 44.4% of R-S Central's points, marking the 17th time in a row she's put up more than a third of the team's points. Niah Fritts was another key player, putting up eight points.

R-S Central's loss dropped their record down to 5-13. As for Brevard, they moved to 5-10 with that victory, which also ended their four-game losing streak.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. R-S Central will face off against Polk County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Polk County will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something R-S Central surely won't give up without a fight. As for Brevard, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against East Henderson at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Brevard has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
