Basketball Recap: Make It Six in a Row for Eastern

Eastern extended their winning streak to six games thanks to a huge performance from Lanaia Martin. The Eastern Ramblers took their match on Wednesday with ease, bagging a 57-29 win over the Dunbar Crimson Tide thanks in part to Martin, who dropped a double-double with 28 points and 16 rebounds. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Madisyn Butts, who posted three points and five steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed four or more in the last 14 games she's played.

Laila Perry-Jackson and Jamia Taylor certainly did their best on Wednesday to avoid the loss. Perry-Jackson almost dropped a double-double with 14 points and nine boards, while Taylor had eight points and nine rebounds. That was a full 48.3% of Dunbar's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.

Eastern's victory bumped their record up to 20-6. As for Dunbar, their defeat ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-12.

As of now, neither Eastern nor Dunbar have any future games scheduled.
