Football Recap: Mater Dei Takes a Loss + How To Watch

After flying high against Harrisburg last Friday, Mater Dei came back down to earth. The Knights fell 41-35 to the Macomb Bombers on Friday. The Knights were up 21-7 in the second quarter but couldn't hold on to the lead.

Despite the defeat, Mater Dei saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Hunter Hochbaum rushed for 67 yards and three touchdowns, and also threw for 239 yards and a pair of TDs. Reed Pingsterhaus was Hochbaum's top target, picking up 78 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

Mater Dei's record is now 1-4. As for Macomb, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.

Mater Dei wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 48-8 win against Miller Career Academy/Vashon/Sumner on the 3rd. As for Macomb, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 30-16 loss against Farmington on the 3rd.
