Baseball Recap: Loogootee Victorious

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Vincennes Lincoln, Loogootee was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They blew past the Wood Memorial Trojans 13-3. That's more bragging rights for the Lions, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Tanner Phillips was excellent, scoring two runs while going 3-for-4. Rawlings Bell was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

Loogootee was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .531. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Wood Memorial only posted a batting average of .350.

Loogootee's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Wood Memorial, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.

Looking ahead, Loogootee will head out to challenge Washington at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Lions are facing the Hatchets at the right time seeing as the Hatchets are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Wood Memorial, they will host Dugger Union at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
