Basketball Recap: Sage Ridge Scorpions vs. Virginia City Muckers
After flying high against Coleville last Saturday, Sage Ridge came back down to earth. The Sage Ridge Scorpions were dealt a 64-33 defeat at the hands of the Virginia City Muckers on Tuesday. The Scorpions haven't had much luck with the Muckers recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Sage Ridge's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Taylor Sullins, who posted eight points.
Sage Ridge now has a losing record at 7-8. As for Virginia City, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 16-1.
When Sage Ridge and Virginia City next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Sage Ridge will try to stop Smith Valley's 15-game winning streak when the meet at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Sage Ridge is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52.2 points per game this season. Similarly, Virginia City will face off against Mineral County and their four-game winning streak at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
