Basketball Recap: Maranacook Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Maranacook can now relate to. They came up short against the Presque Isle Wildcats on Tuesday, falling 62-36. While losing is never fun, the Black Bears can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maine basketball rankings (they are ranked 71st, while the Wildcats are ranked 14th).

Maranacook has also traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 10-10 record this season. As for Presque Isle, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-8 record this season.

Maranacook does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Presque Isle, they will square off against Caribou at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. Caribou will roll in looking for their 12th straight win, something Presque Isle surely won't give up without a fight.
