Baseball Recap: West Bend West Picks Up Eighth Consecutive Win

West Bend West had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They put the hurt on the Homestead Highlanders with a sharp 10-0 victory on Thursday. Considering the Spartans have won 15 contests by more than six runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Eli Kopidlanksy was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Maddex Welzien, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

West Bend West was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .519. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

The win (which was West Bend West's eighth in a row) raised their record to 25-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.1 runs on average over those games. As for Homestead, their loss dropped their record down to 14-12.

As of now, neither West Bend West nor the Highlanders have any future games scheduled.
