Recap: Kamiakin Braves vs. Hermiston Bulldogs

The Kamiakin Braves entered their tilt with the Hermiston Bulldogs with 11 consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with 12. Kamiakin walked away with an 80-69 win over Hermiston on Saturday. Kamiakin's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Kamiakin's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Emaunii Smith led the charge by almost dropping a triple-double on 18 points, 12 rebounds, and nine blocks. Smith hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for ten straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Aubrie Herrin, who almost dropped a triple-double on 12 points, 15 rebounds, and nine assists.

Kamiakin pushed their record up to 13-1 with that win, which was their eighth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.8 points per game. As for Hermiston, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-7.

Kamiakin will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Chiawana at 5:45 p.m. One thing working in Chiawana's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last four matchups. As for Hermiston, Hermiston and Kennewick will face off at 5:45 p.m. on January 16th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Kennewick has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
