Basketball Recap: Booker T. Washington Takes a Loss

Booker T. Washington and Leesville squared off in some playoff action on Monday, but Booker T. Washington had to settle for second. They took a 57-50 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Leesville Wampus Cats.

It was another big night for Shyann McCummings, who posted 23 points for Leesville. That makes it four consecutive games in which McCummings has scored at least a third of Leesville's points. Another player making a difference was Tekeirah Harris, who put up 12 points.

Booker T. Washington's defeat dropped their record down to 18-10-1. As for Leesville, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 15 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-11 record this season.

Booker T. Washington does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Leesville, they will head out to face off against Vandebilt Catholic at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Vandebilt Catholic will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something Leesville surely won't give up without a fight.
