Soccer Game Preview: Monterey Trail vs. Franklin

Monterey Trail is 0-4 against Franklin since January of 2017 but things could change on Wednesday. The Monterey Trail Mustangs will take on the Franklin Wildcats at 6:00 p.m.

Monterey Trail will roll into the game after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any goals two weeks ago, then bounced right back against Galt on Friday. Everything went Monterey Trail's way against Galt as Monterey Trail made off with a 4-1 win. Considering the Mustangs' offense had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Meanwhile, Franklin's undefeated season came to an end after nine games on Friday. They and Del Oro finished up on equal footing with a 1-1 draw. The result kept the Wildcats happy, as they haven't lost a game yet this season.

Their goal came courtesy of Miles Jones, who's now up to two this season.

Monterey Trail's victory bumped their record up to 8-6-1. With that draw, Franklin's record moves to 9-0-1.

Monterey Trail suffered a grim 5-0 defeat to Franklin in their previous matchup back in February of 2018. Can Monterey Trail avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
