Basketball Game Preview: Clayton Yellowjackets vs. Logan Longhorns

After both having extra time off, the Clayton Yellowjackets and the Logan Longhorns will shake off the cobwebs and take on one another at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

While Clayton didn't have the best season last year (they finished 9-19), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They took down Grady/House 64-46 two weeks ago.

Meanwhile, Logan put another one in the bag last Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past Santa Rosa 71-51. The Longhorns have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matchups by 20 points or more this season.

Clayton better focus on containing Hayden Bruhn and Mason Wallin as the pair were huge in Logan's win. Bruhn dropped a double-double on 20 points and 16 boards, while Wallin dropped a double-double on 23 points and ten rebounds. The game was Wallin's seventh in a row with at least ten points. Aydin Kotara was another key player, putting up seven points and six assists.

Logan smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 24 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since back in February.

Logan pushed their record up to 7-0 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Clayton, their victory bumped their record up to 7-2.

Clayton took a serious blow against Logan in their previous meeting back in January, falling 81-51. Can Clayton avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
