Softball Game Preview: Surry Central Golden Eagles vs. West Wilkes Blackhawks

Surry Central is 0-10 against West Wilkes since April of 2016 but things could change on Tuesday. The Surry Central Golden Eagles will head out to square off against the West Wilkes Blackhawks at 6:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Surry Central lost 13-3 to West Stokes on Tuesday.

Layla Wall made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March of 2024.

Meanwhile, West Wilkes came up short against Alexander Central on Monday, falling 13-5.

West Wilkes' loss ended a 14-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 3-2. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.1 runs over those games. As for Surry Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Surry Central suffered a grim 19-2 defeat to West Wilkes in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can Surry Central avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
