Softball Game Preview: Lafayette Christian Academy Knights vs. Bunkie Panthers

The Lafayette Christian Academy Knights are taking a road trip to take on the Bunkie Panthers at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Lafayette Christian Academy will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.

Lafayette Christian Academy's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. Everything went their way against Midland as Lafayette Christian Academy made off with a 9-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Knights, who have now won nine contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Bunkie duked it out with Pitkin on Thursday. Bunkie walked away with a 15-12 win over Pitkin. The high-scoring effort was just what the Panthers needed considering they were shut out in their previous game.

Bunkie got a massive performance out of Brianna LaBorde, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with four RBI, one triple, and one run. Those four hits gave LaBorde a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Layken Middlebrooks, who scored two runs while going 3-for-3.

Bunkie pushed their record up to 10-10 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 8.8 runs. As for Lafayette Christian Academy, their win bumped their record up to 10-4.

Lafayette Christian Academy might still be hurting after the 17-9 defeat they got from Bunkie in their previous matchup back in March of 2024. Can Lafayette Christian Academy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
