Basketball Game Preview: Vertus Warriors vs. Wilson Magnet Wildcats

The Vertus Warriors are taking a road trip to take on the Wilson Magnet Wildcats at 5:45 p.m. on Thursday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Last Friday, Vertus came up short against School of the Arts and fell 59-51. The Warriors have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Wilson Magnet was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They fell 67-56 to Gates Chili. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 642nd, while the Spartans are ranked 281st).

Vertus' loss dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Wilson Magnet, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-14.

Vertus strolled past Wilson Magnet in their previous matchup back in January by a score of 71-56. The rematch might be a little tougher for Vertus since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
