Basketball Game Preview: Pleasant Ridge Rams vs. Horton Chargers

The Pleasant Ridge Rams are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game this season. they will square off against the Horton Chargers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Pleasant Ridge is headed into the contest after thoroughly thrashing McLouth: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Pleasant Ridge blew McLouth out of the water with a 70-38 final score. The match was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Rams had established a 24 point advantage.

Pleasant Ridge got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Luke Heim out in front who went 5 for 8 on his way to 13 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Brady Mance, who went 5 of 8 en route to 15 points and seven rebounds.

Meanwhile, Horton hadn't done well against Hiawatha recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Horton snuck past Hiawatha with a 67-63 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Chargers.

Pleasant Ridge's record is now 2-0. As for Horton, their record is now an identical 2-0.

Pleasant Ridge ended up a good deal behind Horton in their previous matchup back in February, losing 46-29. Can Pleasant Ridge avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
