Recap: Twin Valley Raiders vs. Manheim Central Barons
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for the Twin Valley Raiders, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They took a serious blow against the Barons on Friday, falling 65-28. It was the first time this season that Twin Valley let down their fans at home.
Twin Valley's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Drew Engle, who gained 256 total yards and a touchdown, and Evan Myers who rushed for 133 yards and a touchdown. Engle has been hot recently, having posted 100 or more rushing yards the last three times he's played.
Brycen Armold was his usual excellent self, rushing for 367 yards and six touchdowns while picking up 15.3 yards per carry for Manheim Central. Armold really tore up the turf during one magnificent 80-yard run. Another player making a difference was Zac Hahn, who threw for 158 yards and two touchdowns while completing 71.4% of his passes.
Twin Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 10-2. As for Manheim Central, the win was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-1.
Twin Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Manheim Central will head out on the road to face off against Bishop McDevitt at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Bishop McDevitt is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
