Clark/Willow Lake turns things around after tough road loss

There's no place like home for the Clark/Willow Lake Cyclones, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Saturday. They skirted past Great Plains Lutheran 42-40. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win Clark/Willow Lake has posted yet this season.

Several Panthers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Alex Heil, who scored 15 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Heil has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. Austin Rubendall was another key contributor, scoring ten points.

Clark/Willow Lake's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-5. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.3 points per game. As for Great Plains Lutheran, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-4 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Clark/Willow Lake will take on Redfield at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Great Plains Lutheran, they will head out on the road to face off against Florence/Henry at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday.
