Volleyball Recap: Cobden Comes Up Short

Cobden lost against Goreville back in September and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Appleknockers fell 2-0 to the Blackcats.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-11.

Cobden's offense was headlined by Natalie Franklin and Alivia Kilpatrick, who picked up two kills apiece. They got some help from Amelia Long and her four assists. She was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Cobden's loss dropped their record down to 14-14. As for Goreville, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 21-9.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Cobden will challenge Steeleville at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Goreville, they will square off against Christopher at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
