Basketball Recap: Lawrence Takes a Loss

Lawrence lost against Mt. Blue back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Lawrence Bulldogs fell to the Mt. Blue Cougars 41-37. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maine basketball rankings (they are ranked 113th, while the Cougars are ranked 33rd).

Lawrence's loss was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-13. As for Mt. Blue, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lawrence will face off against Cony at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Cony will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Lawrence surely won't give up without a fight. Mt. Blue has already played their next matchup (against Skowhegan), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
