Volleyball Recap: Cameron County Comes Up Short

If Cameron County was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Smethport on Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Raiders came up short against the Port Allegany Gators on Monday, falling 3-0. The Raiders have struggled against the Gators recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

The final score came out to 25-15, 25-14, 25-13.

Ava Hilfiger paced Cameron County's offense, picking up nine kills. Hilfiger got some help from Addison McAulay and her 11 assists. Finally, Hilfiger was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high three blocks.

Cameron County now has a losing record of 7-8-1. As for Port Allegany, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 13-0.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Cameron County is set to take on their familiar foe Coudersport at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Port Allegany will challenge rival Otto-Eldred at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
