Volleyball Recap: St. Scholastica Falls Short Against Ranked Mt. Carmel

St. Scholastica faced Mt. Carmel in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Doves fell just short of the Cubs by a score of 2-1. The defeat continues a trend for the Doves in their meetings with the Cubs: they've now lost eight in a row.

In an exciting match in which no team claimed back-to-back wins, St. Scholastica sadly wound up on the wrong side. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 20-25, 15-12.

Mt. Carmel found their leader in sophomore Ali Offner, who had 16 digs and one assist.

St. Scholastica's loss dropped their record down to 9-3. As for Mt. Carmel, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-2 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. St. Scholastica will take on Fontainebleau at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Mt. Carmel, they will square off against Mandeville at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
