Baseball Recap: Alexander Falls to Eastern in First Game of Season

Alexander unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They lost 12-5 to the Eastern Eagles on Saturday. The Spartans were not able to make up for their loss to the Eagles from their previous meeting back in March of 2024.

Alexander saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Riley Abfall, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. Noah Ray was another, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

Eastern now has a winning record of 2-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Alexander will host Waterford at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Eastern, they will face off against Athens at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
