Basketball Recap: Grandview Skates Past Raytown South with Ease

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Grandview). They took their matchup on Thursday with ease, bagging a 75-45 victory over the Raytown South Cardinals. The Bulldogs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four games by 29 points or more this season.

Leading Grandview to victory were Jada Smith and Lariah Tucker. Smith almost dropped a double-double on 22 points and nine rebounds, while Tucker went 5 of 9 on her way to 15 points in addition to eight rebounds and six assists. That's the most assists Tucker has posted since back in January. The team also got some help courtesy of Taniya Cruthird, who posted 14 points.

They weren't the only one working in the assists department: Grandview was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

The win made it two in a row for Grandview and bumps their season record up to 4-2. As for Raytown South, they dropped their record down to 0-6 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.

Grandview and Fort Zumwalt East will round out the year against one another at at 4:15 p.m. on December 28th. As for Raytown South, a feisty cat fight will be fought when the Raytown South Cardinals take on the Lee's Summit Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on January 13, 2025.
