Volleyball Recap: Morro Bay Takes a Loss

Morro Bay was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 3-0 to the Atascadero Greyhounds. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Greyhounds this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-2 back in September.

Morro Bay was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the third set very close. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-11, 25-23.

Atascadero found their leader in freshman Cara Howes, who had seven aces and six digs. Natalie Becerra was another key player, getting four digs and three aces.

Morro Bay's loss dropped their record down to 17-23. As for Atascadero, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 24-8.

Morro Bay has already played their next matchup (against St. Joseph), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Atascadero, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Nipomo at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
