Soccer Game Preview: Golden Valley vs. Los Banos

A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Golden Valley take on the Los Banos at 5:45 p.m. on Wednesday... Golden Valley's last three contests have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Last Friday, Golden Valley narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Atwater 3-2. That's two games straight that the Cougars have won by just one goal.

They hit Atwater with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Kevin Soto Hernandez, Daniel Gaona, and Cristian Cardenas-De Leon.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Los Banos). They were the clear victor by a 7-3 margin over Buhach Colony on Wednesday.

Los Banos' win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-1-1 and their overall record up to 7-4-5. As for Golden Valley, their victory bumped their record up to 5-3-1.
