Hancock had to settle for second on Friday, but Teegan DeWitt sure wasn't going down easily. DeWitt was dynamite, tossing six innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off three hits. She has been consistent : she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.

Coming up, DeWitt and Hancock will host Pascagoula at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday. The Hawks got just the result they wanted when they last faced the Panthers thanks in part to DeWitt: she scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3.
