Softball Game Preview: Taylor Yellowjackets vs. Reading Blue Devils

For the second straight game, Taylor will face off against Reading. The Yellowjackets are taking a road trip to challenge the Blue Devils at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Taylor is coming into the match hot, having won their last four games.

Taylor's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Reading as they made off with a 7-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Yellowjackets, who have now won five games by seven runs or more so far this season.

Ellie Stafford was a major factor no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 16 over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one double.

In other batting news, Anna Prosser was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Ava Harrison also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Taylor kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 13 hits in three consecutive matches.

With the loss, Reading broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 9-3. As for Taylor, their record is now 6-4.
