Union and Oratory Prep are an even 3-3 against one another since April of 2016, but likely not for long. The Farmers will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against the Rams at 4:00 p.m. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

On Monday, Union made easy work of Linden and carried off a 10-4 victory. The win continues a trend for the Farmers in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now won five in a row.

Meanwhile, Oratory Prep hadn't done well against Scotch Plains-Fanwood recently (they were 0-4 in their previous four matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Rams blew past the Raiders 9-3.

Thomas Albanito spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned runs on five hits.

On the hitting side, Oratory Prep let Blake Duddy and Vincenzo Luaces run wild. Duddy went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs, while Luaces went 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. Luaces is becoming a predictor of Oratory Prep's success: when he posts at least three RBI the team is 2-1 (and 4-10 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Brendan Keown, who went 3-for-4 with two runs.

Oratory Prep was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .414. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Scotch Plains-Fanwood only posted a batting average of .208.

Union's victory bumped their record up to 7-9. As for Oratory Prep, their win bumped their record up to 6-11.

Union couldn't quite get it done against Oratory Prep in their previous matchup back in May of 2025 as they fell 4-1. Can the Farmers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
