Soccer Recap: Pioneer Triumphs

After failing to score in their last match, Pioneer made sure to put some goals up on the board against Winters on Friday. They walked away with a 4-2 win over the Winters Warriors. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Patriots' offense, which had struggled in the games prior.

Mario Uribe and Alan Landeros-Sanchez scored all four of Pioneer's goals, bringing their combined season tally to five goals.

The victory got Pioneer back to even at 2-2-1. As for Winters, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-3-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pioneer will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Inderkum at 7:30 p.m. on January 8, 2025. Winters will also get a bit of a break before their next contest: they'll face off against Live Oak at 5:15 p.m. on January 7, 2025. Live Oak will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Winters surely won't give up without a fight.
