Fort Myers extended their postseason success on Thursday against Charlotte. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-3 victory over the Fightin' Tarpons. That's the fifth time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent win being a 5-0 victory on Wednesday.

Adler Cervio looked comfortable as he pitched 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Fort Myers' win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Cory Banasiak, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one RBI.

Fort Myers has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-10 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Charlotte, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 20-12.

Looking ahead, Fort Myers will face off against Braden River at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Pirates' pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so the Green Wave's hitters will have their work cut out for them. Charlotte does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
