Baseball Recap: Chatsworth Takes a Loss

Chatsworth extended their losing streak to four on Wednesday, dropping their season record down to 10-12-1 in the process. They fell 3-0 to the El Camino Real Royals. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Royals this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 11-1 back in March.

As for El Camino Real, they have been performing well recently as they've won 13 of their last 16 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games.

For El Camino Real's part, the result came thanks to Luke Howe's shutout, as he gave up just four hits. Howe has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances.

At the plate, El Camino Real's win was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Jackson Sellz, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one double. Julius Haim was another, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one RBI.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: El Camino Real beat Chatsworth by a score of 2-1 on Friday.
