Softball Game Preview: Rising Sun Tigers vs. Bohemia Manor Eagles

For the second straight game, Rising Sun will face off against Bohemia Manor. The Tigers will square off against the Eagles at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Rising Sun 3.4, Bohemia Manor 2.9) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Rising Sun fell victim to Bohemia Manor and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Eagles. The Tigers' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

For Bohemia Manor's part, the result came thanks to Lyla Wescoat (2027)'s shutout, as she gave up just three hits and racked up eight Ks. Wescoat (2027) has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 14 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Gwen Ayers (2026) McDaniel was excellent, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season.

Bohemia Manor's victory bumped their record up to 14-3. As for Rising Sun, their loss dropped their record down to 6-5.

The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Monday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Rising Sun has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 9.5 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Bohemia Manor struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.9 strikeouts.
