Basketball Game Preview: Middle Park Panthers vs. Wiggins Tigers

A feisty cat fight will be fought as Middle Park Panthers duke it out with Wiggins Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Middle Park will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak.

Middle Park can't be too worried about heading out to take on Wiggins: they just beat Jefferson Academy at home, who had been dominant on their own court up to that point. Middle Park walked away with a 53-42 win over Jefferson Academy on Friday.

Middle Park got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Joey Gagnon out in front who posted 13 points in addition to eight boards and five assists. Gagnon is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in each of the last seven games he's played. Weston Wiedel was another key player, going 5-for-8 en route to 10 points and four steals.

Meanwhile, Wiggins played a tough game on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were beaten by Eaton 70-43. The Tigers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Middle Park pushed their record up to 18-4 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 32 points. As for Wiggins, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-14.
