Basketball Recap: Southern Triumphs

Southern hadn't done well against Tri County recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. The Southern Raiders came out on top against the Tri County Trojans by a score of 54-44. This was a revenge game for the Raiders: when they faced off against the Trojans back in December of 2024, they had to take a 54-51 loss.

When it comes to explaining why Tri County lost, don't look at Drew Siems. Despite the final result, he went 12 of 26 en route to 34 points. The contest was Siems' 14th in a row with at least ten points.

Southern's win bumped their record up to 6-7. As for Tri County, they have also been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Southern will venture away from home to challenge Diller-Odell at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Tri County, they will head out on the road to square off against Elmwood-Murdock at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
