Basketball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for Hope

Hope had won three straight games and Jorday Johnson did her part to make it four on Tuesday. The Hope Blue Wave blew past Cuffee/St. Patrick Academy 71-12 thanks in part to Johnson, who dropped a double-double on 30 points and 17 rebounds. That makes it five consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Hope's points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Sharleney Belen, who posted six points. Those six points gave her a new career-high.

Hope's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-3. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 25.0 points per game. As for Cuffee/St. Patrick Academy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Hope has already played their next contest, a 57-9 win against Achievement First Providence on the 16th. As for Cuffee/St. Patrick Academy, they will head out on the road to challenge Central Falls/Blackstone Valley Prep at 6:45 p.m. on January 22nd.
