Football Recap: Jacksboro Falls Despite Big Games from Kase Dennis and Luis Balderama + How To Watch

Jacksboro was the 67-22 winner over Boyd when they last played one another back in September of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Tigers took a 26-21 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Yellowjackets on Friday. Despite 199 more yards than the Yellowjackets, the Tigers couldn't convert that extra yardage to scores.

Jacksboro's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Luis Balderama, who rushed for 153 yards and one TD while picking up 8.1 yards per carry, and Kase Dennis, who picked up 167 receiving yards and one touchdown. Balderama showed off some serious burst, cutting through the defense on one rush that went for 60 yards.

Jacksboro didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Lochlan Pardue and Dennis.

Jacksboro's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Boyd, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Jacksboro will venture away from home to square off against Peaster at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams might be coming in a bit winded given these two teams combined for 930 yards in their previous games. As for Boyd, they will head out to challenge Henrietta at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
