Baseball Recap: Shades Valley Gets the Win

While Shades Valley's win against Paul W. Bryant wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. Shades Valley narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Paul W. Bryant 3-2. That's two games straight that the Mounties have won by just one run.

Devin Scott made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. That one earned run gave him a new career-low. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 1-for-2. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in February.

Scott wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Joshua Moore, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one double and one RBI.

The win made it two in a row for Shades Valley and bumps their season record up to 3-14. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of one runs across that stretch. As for Paul W. Bryant, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-8.

Shades Valley wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, an 8-3 loss against Clay-Chalkville on the 22nd. As for Paul W. Bryant, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 6-4 victory against Carver Birmingham on the 22nd.
