Softball Recap: Berkeley Sets Scoring Season-High Against San Lorenzo

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Berkeley). Everything went their way against the San Lorenzo Grizzlies on Tuesday as Berkeley made off with a 24-1 win. The Yellowjackets haven't had any issues with the Grizzlies recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Berkeley got a great performance from Addison Davis as she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over five innings pitched. That's the fewest hits Davis has allowed since back in April of 2024.

At the plate, Anna Hoverman was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with four runs, five RBI, and two doubles. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ayshia Bell Vorkoeper, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI.

Berkeley always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .537. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as San Lorenzo only posted an OBP of .059.

Berkeley now has a winning record of 4-3. As for San Lorenzo, they dropped their record down to 0-9 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight at home.

Looking ahead, Berkeley will face off against San Leandro at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Berkeley will need to watch out since San Leandro has now posted at least ten runs in their last three matches. As for San Lorenzo, they will take on Tennyson at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
