Basketball Recap: Rockford East Comes Up Short

Rockford East was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 16th straight loss. They were dealt an 80-5 defeat at the hands of the Guilford Vikings. The matchup marked the E-Rabs' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Promise Crawford was Rockford East's leading scorer, having posted four points.

Baylee Sandine was her usual excellent self, going 7-for-8 from beyond the arc on her way to 27 points and five steals for Guilford. Thanks to that strong game, Sandine now owns an excellent 40.9% three-point shooting accuracy. Another player making a difference was Zariah Burnett, who posted nine points and six steals.

Rockford East's loss dropped their record down to 2-27. As for Guilford, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 24-6 record this season.

Rockford East wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 61-22 defeat against Boylan Catholic on the 14th. As for Guilford, they have also already played their next contest, a 69-45 victory against Belvidere on the 14th.
