The scorekeeper got an easy start on Thursday as neither Bethany nor Putnam City West made it on the board until the fifth inning. The Bronchos' pitchers stepped up to hand the Patriots an 8-0 shutout. Considering the Bronchos have won 14 matches by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Bethany is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 13 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Putnam City West, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-15.

Looking ahead, Bethany is taking a road trip to take on El Reno at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bronchos' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Indians have averaged an impressive 7 runs per game this season. As for Putnam City West, they will square off against Minco at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
