Softball Game Preview: West Rebels vs. Webb Spartans

The West Rebels will head out on the road to challenge the Webb Spartans at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Wednesday, West didn't have quite enough to beat South-Doyle and fell 4-3. The defeat continues a trend for the Rebels in their meetings with the Cherokees: they've now lost four in a row.

West saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Joli Bush, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3. Bush is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played.

Meanwhile, Webb was not able to break out of their rough patch last Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against Girls Prep, falling 19-4.

Terralyn Hill was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI. Sofia Silvan was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-2.

West's record is now 6-8. As for Webb, their record now sits at 0-2.

West came out on top in a nail-biter against Webb when the teams last played back in April of 2024, sneaking past 6-4. Do the Rebels have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Spartans turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
