Soccer Recap: Marion Comes Up Short

Marion was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 8-0 to the Perryville Pirates. While losing is never fun, Marion can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' soccer rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 333rd in Illinois, while Perryville are ranked 42nd in Missouri).

Marion's loss dropped their record down to 4-11. As for Perryville, their win bumped their record up to 8-2.

Coming up, Marion will face off against Salem at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Salem will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Marion surely won't give up without a fight. Perryville has already played their next matchup (against Kennett), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
