Baseball Preview: Sheridan Spartans vs. Taft Tigers

Sheridan is 0-3 against Taft since April of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Sheridan Spartans will be playing in front of their home fans against the Taft Tigers at 4:30 p.m.

Sheridan is is headed into Thursday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 13th straight game dating back to last season on April 10th. They fell victim to a tough 12-3 defeat at the hands of Amity.

Meanwhile, Taft put the finishing touches on their eighth blowout victory of the season on Tuesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Dayton an 11-0 shutout. Winning may never get old, but Taft sure is getting used to it with their fifth in a row.

Zack Hankins was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and only two hits while striking out ten over five innings pitched. Hankins has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive pitching appearances. Hankins was also big at the plate, scoring three runs while going 2-for-2.
